The Empress All these are drawn with felt tip (fine point) pens. I started with a light pencil outline, adding color and highlights. Most were started with some sort of doodle, progressively evolving into the final picture. The Gate, for example, started with the blue, green and red "peddles" on the side of the main building. this is why the main building is standing like the Tower of Pisa. What happened is I got a new set of pens and was just "trying them out". This picture, The Empress, started as a try at drawing a face. I cannot draw people, and I have much respect for anyone who can. I draw thoughts, something a friend of mine taught me, but that is another story... |
